The Proposal
March 22nd 2025 - President Trump thinks that an attack will only take place using ballastic missiles. Hence his need to try and build a "Protective Dome".
May 20th 2025 - The current estimate at today's prices is $175,000,000,000.
May 27th 2025 - North Korea announces it risks Nuclear War.
May 28th 2025 - Canada is offered a change to be protected by the Golden Dome for $61 million dollars.
June 13th 2025 - Congress estimate that the project will take around 20 years to complete and cost around $524 million dollars.
June 13th 2025 - Speculation grows around the extent of SpaceX involvement. The White House has said that is committed to a rigorous review process for all bids and contracts.
June 5th 2025 - British defence giant to make satellites for Trump's Golden Dome missile shield.
July 22nd 2025 - The Golden Dome project is looking for a Musk alternative as Trump tries to remove his companies from the project.
August 2nd 2025 - The Pentagon has scheduled its first major test for a golden dome missile defense system before the 2028 elections.
Most experts say it will not do the job.
Issues
Targeting problems will persist when tens, hundreds or even a thousand missiles could be fired at the USA during a conflict.
The whole idea looks unworkable. A lot of scientists and space companies will get rich trying to make it work.

- How will it be constructed ?
- How many objects could it shoot down ?
- How much will it cost to reload ?
- How will it be tested ?
- What is the maximum range ?
- Will it stop hypersonic missiles ?
- If it misses it's target will it hit the USA ?
- Will U.S. citizens who survive a miss be able to claim compensation ?
- Can it stop Ship to shore missiles ? (USA's current preferred attack mode)
- Can it stop Cruise missiles ?
- Can it stop drone attacks ?
- Can it be neutralized by electronic interference ?
